do we need therapy

or do we need to live in reality

we want to talk

because we're anxious

but do we need silence

to heal

an uncomfortable feeling arises

so we walk out of the door

but what if it passes

with a little more time like a breeze

and then we would have been sent walking

for a breeze?

we turn to this phone

at every moment

to pull us away

into a vortex

but is it real?

there are shadows everywhere

we mistake for things

and walk towards them

only to have left our path

how do we know then the difference

between a sign and a mirage

a sign is a guide post that we are headed the right way

a mirage is a desire that cannot be fulfilled

they feel quite different

we must teach ourselves to know the way

building our sense of direction as we proceed in life

learning it from our parents

are our greatest tools

we are all explorers

even though the streets have all been mapped

we are all adventurers

even though all the forest have been explored

because the greatest and most difficult realms

are where you'd expect them to be

places no technology can map

we walk our own paths

in silence, in stillness, in objective truth

as best as we can

so we do not get lost

knowing

we will

many times over

and can

and still get to where we are supposed to be
