what if it does matter
it's easy to step back and look at the x-axis
and peer down it far into the distance and think
that over a long enough time frame
everything we do is dust
maybe we are drawn to this nihilism, so that we can be more carefree
but what if there is something that we cannot see
which is that we are born into heaven at birth
and the shittyness of this life around us is our collective choice?
made by people who convinced themselves that life was suffering and merely a weigh station
what if we've made things this way when they were not supposed to be?
what if everything that we do matters?
not in a small way but in a big way
what if everything we do changes the universe itself? and we just don't see it because our eyes are obsessed with size? our minds are obsessed with a place we will never be?
such that, far from having far insignificant lives in this unknown universe
we have tremendously significant human, cosmic lives
maybe we just got lost
and wanted to believe we didn't matter
so it would take the responsibility for this existence
off of our shoulders
